Recommendation Instructions

Online recommendations are required.

To start a new recommendation, click on MAKE YOUR RECOMMENDATION on this page and then on Start New Form. An Access Code will be assigned, please write it down for future use when you return to this recommendation.

Put your narrative comments in a word processing format, then copy and paste them into the online NPSC Recommendation.

Note: The transfer of word processing text is not fully compatible with more generic Internet text, so please do not use special characters or any characters created with option keys. Also, punctuation marks such as apostrophes and quotation marks do not always transfer correctly, so you may want to scan your Internet text for accuracy. After you paste, the Internet text may look like a continuous string of text and not show the paragraph breaks, they are there so do not edit paragraph breaks. Your recommendation will transmit and print after verifying punctuation marks.

Finalizing the online Recommendation.

After completing the recommendation, the option buttons are "Save" and "Submit Completed Form." If you are ready for final processing click on the "Submit Completed Form." The recommendation will be scanned for completeness and the program will advise you of discrepancies or notes you should be aware of.

If all is well this process automatically sends your final updates and codes the NPSC database as a completed electronic recommendation. If you wish, you may then print a copy of your recommendation for your files .

You will not be able to re-enter your recommendation and make modifications. If you do need to change your recommendation, call the NPSC office at (800) 952-4118 or email techsupport@npsc.org to request your recommendation be unlocked. You will then be required to make your corrections and repeat the guidance above for finalizing the online Recommendation.

Deadline for recommendation submission:

November 5.

A COMPLETE RECOMMENDATION INCLUDES:

Recommendation Form Part 1 - Provided by the student to the recommender.
Recommendation Form Part 2 - Completed online.
