NPSC Employer Commitment

NPSC member employers review student applicants and select those whom they wish to sponsor as NPSC Fellows. The fellowships are awarded in mid-March, prior to the academic year in which the students will begin their graduate work.

Financial Information

The NPSC Fellowship covers tuition and fees, provided by the university department, and a allowance, provided by the employer. The annual charge to the employer for each student supported is $21,000, of which $16,000 is the allowance to the student and $5,000 is NPSC's overhead fee. ( The charge is subject to change at the discretion of the NPSC Board of Directors.) Fellows also receive two summers of paid internship at their employer sponsor's work site, plus round-trip travel for each of the two summers. Member employers also provide year-round mentoring support for all NPSC Fellows.

Allowances are distributed quarterly by the NPSC Headquarters office to each university.
